I had the chance to see Snow Falling on Cedars last night at Center Stage in Baltimore City.. This was the first non-stop dress rehearsal to date. (I recall one minor stutter over a line – but other than that, the performance was spot on in my eyes) Admittedly, I do not go to all that many plays, but I did find this play to be interesting and enjoyable throughout – so that is saying something.
Brief synopsis via Center Stage’s website: “Against the backdrop of an America torn by World War II, cultures and communities clash when a Japanese American islander is accused of murder. This hauntingly lyrical saga—adapted from David Guterson’s acclaimed story of mystery, love, and identity—deftly shifts from courtroom to strawberry fields to bloody battlefront, digging for hard truths buried in a forgotten history.”
