“Slow are the steps of repentance, but swift are the feet of forgiveness. God can run where we scarcely limp, and if we are limping towards Him, He will run towards us.” -from Spurgeon’s sermon on the parable of the Prodigal Son. We are all the Prodigal Son. Just as the father rejoiced and prepared a feast when his son came back to him, so does God rejoice and open His arms when we answer His call, repent, and come to Him – as filthy as we may be – it doesn’t matter. Our sins are washed away by Jesus’ death and resurrection. Everything changes.
